Baptist Medical Center South to host Open House
Saturday, February 12, 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Jacksonville, Fla., February 02, 2005 - Community members are invited to attend an open house at Baptist Medical Center South, the newest hospital in the Baptist Health system, and the first hospital built in Jacksonville in the 21st Century. The hospital, which will open for business on February 16, is a state-of-the-art facility built to serve the rapidly growing communities of southern Duval and northern St. Johns counties.

"We're delighted and very excited to welcome the public to our new hospital," said A. Hugh Greene, Baptist Health president and chief executive officer. "This is a way for us to showcase the innovative design and patient-friendly atmosphere."

Greene, along with members of Baptist Health's board, Baptist South Administrator Ron Robinson and members of local government will be on hand to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony. The event will also offer an opportunity to tour the hospital.

Baptist South boasts 248,000 square feet of space with an emphasis on natural light and the arts. Large, private patient rooms and a beautifully landscaped campus contribute to its healing environment. The new hospital also features an electronic medical records system.

Baptist South's open house is scheduled for Saturday, February 12 from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 11 a.m.

Baptist Medical Center South is located at St. Augustine Road and Interstate 95 south of the I-95 / I-295 interchange.

• From I-95 South: Take exit 335 - St. Augustine Road. Loop right over I-95 and merge left one lane. Turn right at the second traffic signal, the entrance to Baptist South.
• From I-95 North: Take exit 335 - St .Augustine Road and turn right. Turn right at the first traffic signal, the entrance to Baptist South.
