Baptist Health Adds Urgent Care Offices
New Locations and Extended Hours in Arlington and Lakewood for Patient Convenience
Jacksonville, Florida, January 10, 2007 On January 1, 2007, Baptist Health began to offer urgent care services at existing physicians' offices on the Southside of Jacksonville. The addition of two new locations with extended hours offers patients a convenient option for care when their physician's office is closed, or for minor emergencies.
Emergency medicine and primary care physicians at the new Baptist facilities include: Carlos R. Barberis, MD; Henryk Malczak, DO; Pamela Burns, MD; and Robert F. Kiely, MD.
Baptist Urgent Care in Arlington is located at 1021 Cesery Blvd. and is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Baptist Urgent Care in Lakewood is located at 5978 Powers Avenue and is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday. Most insurance plans are accepted.
The Baptist Urgent Care centers, which soon will be renovated, offer a full array of services and treatments for all ages on a walk-in basis, with no appointment necessary. Services include treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, such as sore throats, coughs, colds and the flu; cuts and burns; back strains; and minor eye injuries, infections or irritations. With laboratory and X-ray services on-site, Baptist Urgent Care offices also provide preventive care such as glucose screenings and athletic physicals, as well as employee health services.
"Adding Baptist Urgent Care offices with extended hours will increase patient convenience in accessing high-quality health care services," says Earl B. Mally, FACHE, senior vice president of Baptist Physician Services. "We are very pleased to welcome these new physicians and their staffs to the Baptist Health team."
