Area Nurses, Clinicians Invited to May 18 Conference on "Caring and the Patient Experience"
Keynote Speaker Jean Watson, PhD, RN, Is Nationally Known Author, Nursing Educator and Theorist

Jacksonville, Florida, April 16, 2007 -- The Homeyer Institute for Nursing Research and Education at Baptist Health will host Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, nationally known author, nursing educator and theorist, at "An Evidence-Based Practice Conference: Caring and the Patient Experience" on Friday, May 18, 2007. The event will be held at the University of North Florida, University Center, from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Attendees will earn seven nursing contact hours, FBN 50-3796. Cost is $75 per person ($40 per person for Baptist Health employees and nursing students).

Nurses and other clinicians are invited to explore the science and experience of caring with Watson, whose book, Theory of Human Caring, has influenced nursing curricula and practice for more than 20 years. Joining Watson are clinicians who use her theory in their institutional and personal practice, who will talk about putting her theory into action to change the patient experience.
