The Women's Board of Wolfson Children's Hospital Announces Its Largest Gift to Date
Jacksonville, Florida, June 20, 2007 -- The Women's Board of Wolfson Children's Hospital(Wolfson) has announced its largest gift to date to the hospital; the total of $1,507,171 is based on proceeds from the 2006 Art & Antiques Show and the sold-out 2006-2007 Florida Forum season.
The mission of The Women's Board is to increase awareness of Wolfson's services and to raise funds to ensure excellence in pediatric health care.
Founded in 1973, the efforts of the 350-plus, all-volunteer group have provided Wolfson in excess of $16.5 million, used in a variety of ways to provide quality children's health care in Northeast Florida and beyond. This year's offering goes to the Children's Emergency Center and Children's Surgical Services.
Karen Wolfson, president of The Women's Board, says, "Our success is due to the patronage of a community that recognizes Wolfson Children's Hospital's worth. The ongoing generosity and support of both individuals and businesses allow us to continue to meet the hospital's ever-present needs. We are sincerely appreciative of all they do."
