ADVANCE for Nurses Announces Readers' Choice Hospital List
Baptist Medical Center Downtown Earns Honors
Jacksonville, Florida, October 29, 2007 -- ADVANCE for Nurses newsmagazine announced Baptist Medical Center Downtown is one of the select "top hospitals" in the magazine's first Readers' Choice survey for the State of Florida. The hospital was honored for its retention efforts and professional development opportunities for RNs.
Voting was open to RNs who ranked a selected hospital in five categories that matter to nurses: quality of care, organizational culture, professional development, communication and retention efforts.
ADVANCE provided a list of 297 hospitals in Florida and invited readers to rank their facility by responding on a 1-5 scale to 10 statements in each of the five categories. From that list, participants voted on 100 different hospitals. Ten hospitals were honored across the five categories.
Hundreds of nurses from across Florida voted in the unscientific online poll, which was available on the ADVANCE for Nurses Web site from March through July. Baptist Medical Center Downtown is featured in the cover story of the Oct. 29, 2007 issue.
