Red Wagon Parade Benefiting Wolfson Children's Hospital to be Held on September 13
Annual Event Salutes Mayor John Peyton's Book Club with Children's Book Theme

Jacksonville, Florida, September 10, 2008 -- The Red Wagon Parade benefiting Wolfson Children's Hospital will begin at Hemming Plaza in downtown Jacksonville on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at 11 am. The parade helps kick off Mayor John Peyton's Book Club and is the first official Gator Bowl event of the year.

Led by a big brass band, the parade will feature costumed story book characters and red wagons decorated to depict much-loved children's books and stories.

FCC Equipment Financing serves as this year's title sponsor of the Red Wagon Parade.

Following the parade, the wagons will roll into Jacksonville's Main Library for display. The red wagons have also been invited to represent Wolfson Children's Hospital and the Mayor's Book Club later this year in the Winn-Dixie Hometown Gator Bowl Parade, which will be telecast on live TV in nine southeastern cities on New Year's Eve.

This year, the Red Wagon Parade will feature more than 50 decorated wagons from corporate sponsors, civic organizations, schools and individuals. To date, the event has already raised $183,048, which provides funds to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, as well as the Pediatric Oncology Department, at Wolfson Children's Hospital.

"This year, we are breaking all records, with $94,793 raised to date," says Julie Handley, development director for Wolfson Children's Hospital.

Wolfson believes that children must be healthy to be good readers and supports RALLY Jacksonville, Mayor Peyton's plan to get every child to read.
