Baptist Health Named One of the 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare Magazine
Health System Is the Only One in Northeast Florida to Receive Recognition
Jacksonville, Florida, September 22, 2008 -- On September 8, 2008, Baptist Health was named among Modern Healthcare magazine's "100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare." The list ranking will be published in the October 27, 2008, edition of Modern Healthcare and is available online at www.ModernHealthcare.com/bestplacestowork.
Baptist Health was the only health care organization in Northeast Florida to be named on the magazine's "100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare," and one of only six in Florida.
"Modern Healthcare's 'Best Places to Work in Healthcare' program identifies and recognizes healthcare organizations that have successfully built workplace excellence and enabled employees to perform at their optimal level," says Fawn Lopez, publisher of Modern Healthcare.
"We are honored to be named among some of the best health care organizations in the country as a great place to work," says Hugh Greene, president and CEO of Baptist Health. "We value our employees and recognize that they are the reason for our success and our reputation as the most preferred health care provider in Northeast Florida."
Modern Healthcare established this program to nationally recognize outstanding employers in the healthcare industry. The program collected information from both the employer and employees and was open to all health care-related companies (providers, suppliers, payers, associations, etc.) with at least 25 employees. Employers completed a survey detailing company policies, practices, benefits and demographics. Employees were asked questions in eight areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.
"Whether caregivers are at the bedside or support those who are, it is our people who have helped us achieve this honor," says Beth Mehaffey, vice president of Human Resources for Baptist Health.
