In 2006, Baptist Health placed second in the 2006 First Coast Games. Our swim
team and golf team, both comprised of Baptist Health employees, finished first
in their categories.
In 2005, the Mental Health Association of Northeast
Florida presented Baptist Health President and CEO Hugh Greene with its
"Community Leadership Award" in recognition of the organization's continued
commitment to providing behavioral health to area residents.
In 2005, Cerner, the health care information technology company, presented
its Leo Black Award for Innovation in Information Technology to Baptist Health
President and CEO Hugh Greene in recognition of Baptist South's opening as a
fully digital hospital.
In 2005, Baptist Medical Center Downtown was awarded with one of the first Organ Donation Medals of Honor for
achieving outstanding rates for organ donation. Presented by the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration
(HRSA), it is given to those hospitals achieving an organ donation rate of 75
percent or higher during a 12-month period.
Florida Medical Business readers selected Baptist Medical Center South
for the
"Golden Stethoscope Award" for Best Use of Technology in the
hospital or health system category.

The Joint Commission named Baptist Medical Center a 2003 winner of the seventh
annual
Ernest A. Codman Award, which recognizes excellence in the
use of outcomes measurement by health care organizations to achieve improvements
in the quality and safety of health care.
The American Society of
Clinical Oncology presented its "Community Research Award" to Baptist Cancer
Institute in 2003 to recognize its outstanding contributions to and
participation in clinical trials.
