Critical Care
With the addition of the East Pavilion wing in 2005, the 24-bed critical care unit expanded the family-centered atmosphere and introduced the universal bed concept. Patients remain in the same room as they progress from critical care to stable condition then to their release.
Each room has a sleeper sofa and desk, making it comfortable for a loved one to stay with the patient. The critical care floor also has a kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot in a glass-enclosed patio, as well as a research library with Internet access. Under most circumstances, family and friends may visit 24 hours a day.
