The senior chaplain at Baptist Beaches is certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains and is responsible for the activities and ministries of the department. Volunteer chaplain assistants are recruited, following completion of appropriate training and education, to serve along side the senior chaplain.

Clinical Pastoral Education is conducted on campus in conjunction with Baptist South, with the senior chaplain providing administrative and pastoral oversight to the students on the Baptist Beaches campus. These pastoral caregivers are prepared to provide counseling in spiritual decisions, help in evaluating crisis decisions, and serve as advocate and liaison. Pastoral counseling, spiritual directing and other specific spiritual care services are provided upon request and as needed.

Area clergy are welcomed at the appropriate times to visit their parish members. The hospital chapel, available 24 hours daily, is located across from the central courtyard in the main hospital building and serves as a haven for those in need of a place for quiet time, reflection, meditation or a prayerful experience. The senior chaplain may be contacted by calling 904.627.2470 or by visiting the chaplain's office located on the first floor of the East Pavilion near the Outpatient Registration Department.
