Emergency Care Around the Clock

Experience and responsiveness are the hallmarks of Baptist Nassau's Emergency Center, which includes a Chest Pain Center accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. We're staffed 24 hours a day by emergency medicine physicians and nurses. During the busiest hours, we offer Fast-Track care to speed treatment for less serious, non-life-threatening problems. Most injuries and illnesses can be effectively treated here, but ambulance service is readily available. When a higher level of medical care is required immediately, Baptist Health's Life Flight air ambulance can speed patients to Jacksonville in minutes.

Diagnostic Services

Our laboratory, radiology and cardiopulmonary departments conduct hundreds of tests daily. Using state-of-the-art equipment, they help physicians diagnose illnesses and injuries, and follow up on rehabilitative progress. With our advanced electronic medical record system, test results are available online to the treatment team, whether they are at the hospital or at their offices. This filmless approach offers unprecedented service. Our Imaging Department's full range of capabilities is completed by a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite and digital mammography.

Breast Health Services

A mammogram is the best way to find breast cancer early, when it is most treatable. At Baptist Nassau, screening mammograms using very low radiation and the latest digital equipment can be scheduled in just one or two days using our online appointment form or calling 904.321.3636. No physician order is needed.

Women who have a suspicious result from a screening mammogram are immediately referred to the Pavilion Breast Center at Baptist Downtown for further diagnostic evaluation by all female board-certified radiologists who are experts in breast imaging and diagnostics.

Cardiopulmonary/Sleep Laboratory

Concentrating its diagnostic expertise on the heart and lungs, Baptist Nassau's cardiopulmonary department specializes in EKG testing, performs echocardiography and stress testing, and conducts a variety of diagnostic pulmonary function tests. The department also manages a sleep laboratory to evaluate and assist patients with sleep disorders.

Our lab has earned accreditation by CAP, a highly respected laboratory accreditation program. Click here for details.

Clinical Laboratory

Laboratory services are provided to Baptist Nassau patients and a wide array of healthcare providers including Home Health agencies and Occupational Health, Primary Care and local reference laboratories. The lab is fully accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks and the College of American Pathologists.

Hospitalist Program

Hospitalists work as partners with local primary care physicians who are often spread thin, with full waiting rooms in their offices and patients needing attention at the hospital. Hospitalists don't have ongoing private patients. They provide hospital care only, often for vacationers and residents admitted through the emergency department who may not have a private physician.

At Baptist Nassau, hospitalists see their patients daily, sometimes several times, to monitor progress, review test results and keep patients and families informed of treatment changes and plans.

Inpatient Care

Attentive, personalized care is available at all times in our state-of-the-art critical care, medical/surgical and labor and delivery units. All patients are cared for in spacious, comfortable, family-friendly private suites. In addition to nurses, support personnel and their own physicians, patients and families can consult our hospital chaplain, who focuses on the spiritual and emotional aspects of health and healing.

Maternity Services

The obstetrics unit features patient suites designed to allow expectant mothers to go through the labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum process in a single room. These comfortably furnished, family-centered rooms feature high-tech equipment required for safe monitoring and delivery. Baptist Nassau also recently opened a new nursery and offers a variety of educational programs on childbirth and newborn care. For information, call 904.321.3581.

Wound care and pain management programs are also available.

Baptist Nassau's Rehabilitation Services Clinic evaluates and treats patients for a variety of special needs and is located at:
