Volunteens

The 2010 Volunteen Program application process is closed.

Join the Volunteen Program at Baptist South for 15-17 year olds. The program will offer Volunteens the opportunity to work side by side with Volunteers and Staff, develop leadership skills, learn about the medical field and obtain valuable work experience.

Teens will work two days each week, either Mondays and Tuesdays or Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 8:30 am - 5 pm. Two sessions will be offered: the weeks of June 21 - July 12, and the weeks of July 19 - August 9.

Those individuals who are selected for the program will work with one department for a four-hour shift in the morning, have a 30 minute break for lunch including a meal voucher to our cafe, and will work in a second department for a four-hour shift in the afternoon. This schedule will give the teen exposure to two different areas of the hospital. Departments that host Volunteens include: Emergency services, dietary, patient care units, laboratory, labor/delivery/postpartum/recovery, medical records, security, operating room, education, imaging, registration, and more.
