Baptist Medical Center South is the perfect place to welcome your baby into the world. Mothers-to-be receive state-of-the-art care in a family-centered environment that's close to home.

Each of our 22 expansive patient suites is designed for labor and delivery through recovery and postpartum care and features home-like amenities including rocking chairs and large windows with outside views to ensure mom and family are as comfortable as possible. And our family-centered care philosophy features flexible rooming-in and visitor policies.

At Baptist South, our excellent doctors, nurses and staff - including our lactation consultants - work together to ensure every new mom and baby receives all the personal attention and support they need.

And, while we hope that you have the healthiest of newborns, some infants need additional care. Baptist South's brand new, state-of-the-art, 14-bed Level II Newborn Intensive Care Unit can take care of babies born as young as 32 weeks with a higher acuity than is provided in a newborn nursery. Babies requiring ventilation, surgery or who have other, more critical needs would continue to be transferred to Wolfson Children's Hospital's Level III NICU, as they are now.
