Pastoral Care
Spiritual and emotional support is an integral part of the healthcare experience at Baptist South and is available for patients, families, and staff. Recognizing the multiple spiritual and cultural orientations among our community, hospital staff extend respect to all persons and utilize inclusive assessment to ensure each person receives the particular type of spiritual support desired.

A full-time Chaplain,
Clinical Pastoral Education
students, and trained Chaplain Volunteers, minister from a multifaith approach to provide support and/or contact various faith community resources as needed. Chaplains are available for a pastoral conversation regarding a variety of concerns, which may involve:
- Personal/family concerns
- Feelings regarding hospitalization
- Prayer requests
- Support system needs
- Critical life decisions
- Cultural/moral/ethical concerns
- Ritual requests (i.e. Communion, Baptism)
- Clergy requests (i.e. Pastor, Priest, Rabbi, Imam)
- Connection with community support resources
An On-Call Chaplain is available 24 hours a day for emergency situations. And a hospital chapel, located across from administration offices, remains open day and night for those in need of a quiet place for reflection, meditation, or prayer.
The Senior Chaplain's office is located on the 4th Floor adjacent to the rear entrance of the ICU. He may be contacted at
