Before joining the Baptist Medical Center Downtown medical staff as a radiation oncologist, Sinopoli served as chief resident in radiation oncology at Baylor College of Medicine. He received a National Merit Scholarship, graduated cum laude from Duke University, and received his doctorate of medicine from MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine.

Sinopoli is a member of numerous organizations, including the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiology, the American Radium Society and the Florida Radiation Oncology Group. He has lectured frequently on intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for prostate cancer and tumors of the central nervous system, and he was the recipient of the 2005 American Radium Society's Young Oncology Essay Award for a paper written on adult medulloblastoma brain tumors.
