A medical oncologist is a health care provider who coordinates treatment for cancer patients. The oncologist is qualified in internal medicine and has sub-specialized in the whole person assessment of patients with cancer and also in the use of chemotherapy, hormones and biotherapy. At Baptist Cancer Institute, we focus on state of the art techniques in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer. The staff at the Cancer Institute provides a friendly and supportive atmosphere for patients and families who face the physical and emotional challenges of cancer. Our physicians are board certified and work with a number of licensed professional nurses, medical assistants and a clinical psychologist.
