Diagnostic Breast Services

radiologist meets with patient to discuss results When a patient is referred to the Hill Breast Center, located in the Baptist Outpatient Center at 1235 San Marco Blvd., she can be assured that she is in expert hands. Emergency, urgent and "new problem" diagnostic procedures can be scheduled within several days of a suspicious screening mammogram result, in most cases. At the end of her diagnostic visit, the patient will receive her results from a Breast Health Services radiologist.

In addition, if further evaluation is recommended following a diagnostic digital mammogram or breast ultrasound, the patient will meet with our radiologist, and often with a Breast Care coordinator, so she can have her questions answered and learn more about the testing she will undergo.

Our centralized model of care for diagnostic mammography is unique in Northeast Florida, and offers several benefits to our patients and their families, including:

  • Faster diagnosis - Rather than losing sleep, women are able to get the answers they need quickly. In most cases, a diagnosis is available within 24 hours.
  • Quality and accuracy - Equipping our specialized team of radiologists with the latest technology, all in one centralized location, helps enhance the accuracy of diagnosis and quality of care.
  • Continuity of care - Patients requiring surgical intervention will have the benefit of a registered nurse Breast Care coordinator to help her navigate the many decisions and aspects of treatment. These nurse clinicians help coordinate each patient's unique "circle of care," and provide continuity from one step to the next. Their goal is to ensure each patient receives the highest level of care, provided in the most convenient and comfortable setting, close to home.
