Endoscopy refers to a minimally invasive procedure that obtains images and information about internal organs by inserting a flexible tube through a natural opening in the body, most commonly the mouth or rectum. Moderate sedation is required for most endoscopy services, which are usually provided on an outpatient basis.
The Center for Endoscopy is a state-of-the-art outpatient facility within Baptist Medical Center Downtown that was designed with the health and comfort of patients in mind. Here, you'll find the latest technology for advanced tests and procedures, a number of which are unique to Northeast Florida.
Here, physicians can obtain extremely accurate, high-quality images of internal organs and are able to visualize, diagnose and even treat disorders in a single visit. A sampling of procedures is listed below.

Scheduling
Your physician will schedule your procedure and provide you with specific instructions regarding preparation and recovery.
You will need to report directly to the Center for Endoscopy for all of your pre-operative through post-operative procedures. You will need to arrange for a driver to take you home after your procedure.
