A board-certified neurological surgeon and a native of Jacksonville, Chandler earned his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He completed his surgical internship and neurosurgical residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He completed an international skull base surgery fellowship at National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery in Queen Square, London, England. After relocating to Missoula, Montana, in 1994, Chandler founded and became chairman of the National Institutes of Health-funded Montana Neuroscience Institute in 1995. There, he focused his research on brain tumors.
Chandler is a nationally recognized expert in the field of neurosurgical oncology. He is the first and only neurosurgeon in North Florida whose practice and expertise will be completely devoted to the treatment and ongoing management of primary, metastatic and complex tumors of the brain, skull base and spine.
