Carlos R. Barberis, MD, received his medical degree from the Universidad del Litoral in Rosario, Argentina. In 1973, Dr. Barberis came to the United States and served as a research and cardiovascular surgery fellow at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also completed his emergency medicine residency at University Hospital of Jacksonville and general surgical residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. Dr. Barberis is board-certified in emergency medicine and worked at various local hospitals' Emergency Departments for decades. Since 1981, Dr. Barberis has served as an owner of an urgent care center and then as a physician with Baptist Urgent Care.
Robert F. Kiely, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. Since 1981, Dr. Kiely has served as an owner of an urgent care center and then as a physician with Baptist Urgent Care. He currently serves as the medical director of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) and the Board of Fire Surgeons, and he is the physician for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT Team and JFRD Urban Search and Rescue Team. Dr. Kiely is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army and deputy commander of the 345th Combat Support Hospital that recently returned from Iraq.
