Mission of the Foundation
The mission of the foundation is to support current and future community health care needs through philanthropy and fundraising.
The Role of the Foundation
The role of the Foundation is to support Baptist Health and Wolfson Children's Hospital by matching an individual's charitable interests with the needs of the hospitals.
Baptist Health is a faith-based, mission-driven, locally governed, not-for-profit health system that provides first-quality health care in our community through the compassionate and skilled treatment of hospitalized patients and through neighborhood primary care centers and outpatient facilities and services. In a national consumer preference survey, Baptist Health perennially is chosen as the local Most Preferred Hospital Overall with the best doctors, best nurses and overall quality. Wolfson Children's Hospital, the Northeast Florida region's only hospital exclusively for children, is a technologically advanced pediatric facility where critically ill and injured children are treated with compassion and skill. Services range from bone marrow transplants to pediatric cardiology.
In 2006, uncompensated and charity care at Baptist accounted for more than $56 million. Baptist Health is committed to giving the best comprehensive care, which the Foundation assists by funding new technology, equipment and treatment. Your gifts to Baptist Health Foundation are integral to the continued excellence in health care provided by the Baptist Health hospitals and Wolfson Children's Hospital.
The Foundation also supports the efforts of a Scholarship Program, which is offered to Baptist Health employees seeking to increase their academic credentials.
